The fall wedding season is upon us! That means getting all dressed up to see your favorite people walk down the isle! Today is all about one of my favorite new preppy brands, Sail to Sable and this adorable wedding guest dress!
Being a twenty something millennial, it seems like the majority of my friends have gotten married or have future dates set! Those friends who have been married for a few years are now all having babies, it’s crazy! I still feel like a kid over here. It’s always so exciting to get that invite in the mail knowing you get to celebrate your close friends and their new marriage! All those pretend weddings and fairy tales I dreamed of as kid with my friends are coming true and it’s SO fun!
One year, I had over 9 wedding to attend, there were even multiple in one month! These weren’t the great aunts, bffs, second removed cousins weddings that you don’t care to attend. These were all friends weddings I really wanted to attend! It was a doozy and I legit wore all of my appropriate wedding guest dresses and then dun dun dun…I ran out of options I wanted to re-wear.
At that point I knew it was time to invest in a few timeless dresses that I could wear year after year and never tire of! 9 weddings will do that to you! When I reached out to Sail to Sable about collaborating together, they were so kind to let me pick out this beautiful classic navy dress! It legit is all of my wedding guest dreams come true dress!

When it comes to wedding guest dress shopping, I really love finding classic and structured pieces that will last me for years to come. Sail to Sable really prides themselves on the details and this dress is no exception! The crew neck and silhouette are perfect! While it is def a splurge, it’s honestly one of the most well made pieces I’ve ever owned! The cotton dot lace detailing is beautiful and acts like a personal fan! It lets a nice little breeze through! I felt so insanely comfortable and cool in the dress!
You know how after a full day of wedding festivities or a long day of being dressed up, the first thing you want to do when you get home is put on pajamas?! This dress is the exception to that! It’s super soft and I’d even go as far to say, you would be fine wearing it to an after party as well without wanting to change into a different outfit.
I also put it to the “drop it low” test. To me, a dress is really wedding worthy if there’s enough room to drop it low low low at a reception without worrying about ripping the dress. ?
After my BFF and I shot this dress, I wore it for a few hours until I went home for the night. Let me tell you…that would NOT happen if I felt even slightly uncomfortable. That’s really saying something!
As a fashion critic, like a food critic but more fun, I just love the pretty lace detailing, simple silhouette and the beautiful gold zipper in the back! THE ZIPPER is amazing! It glides like butter! No worrying about getting stuck in the dress!
For weddings, I love to let the dress shine and keep the accessories very simple! I absolutely love my straw bags and will be using them during the fall months! No need to put them away, especially for cocktail attire or a wedding held by the water! Instead of a bag with a handle, you can also use a straw clutch with adds a bit more elegance to an ensemble!
Just like accessories, go neutral or go home for shoes! My current favorite and most worn heel is under $25 from Target! I’ve owned them for a year or two and will never turn from them! They are a few shades darker than my skin tone which I just love.
How cute is that blue little boat?! My BFF and I found it when we were snapping these photos on the river. The hopeless romantic in us hopes that it was a guy taking a girl on a reallyyyy romantic boat ride and a fancy dinner to a nearby restaurant on the water.

Thank you Sail to Sable for gifting this dress! All sunny opinions are my own!
Lots of Sunshine,
Katie
