Oversized Striped Button Down Top

Now that it’s officially September, we can start welcoming fall! I love adding lightweight button down tops with shorts and if I’m really feeling it, white pants! It’s the best way to jump on the fall bandwagon without sacrificing comfort and is a really easy transition piece, especially when it’s still warm outside. Let’s be real though, this sunshine girl is hanging onto summer for as long as I can. Anyone else?

You might not believe it but it actually felt like “fall” out last night! I walked outside to head to the gym and I really couldn’t believe how the air felt. I got so excited, I immediately called my mom on the phone to tell her to go and feel the rare Aug 31st weather! I may be getting a bit more excited for fall this year if it gets here faster! Every year I always feel like the fall grinch because I just love summer so so much!

When I bought this striped shirt the reviews said it was extremely over-sized so I ordered an XS. Keep in mind, on my tall 5’8 frame, a Small would have fit so much better. The sleeve cuffs are to tight to leave buttoned on the XS. I’m going to try and loop a yellow ribbon through the button holes and tie them in a cute bow to see if it holds the cuffs together but not tight (if that makes sense). Other than that, I love the size and length.

Buying over-sized shirts is always a science. This one’s called a boyfriend style and it’s long enough to still tuck into shorts and skirts or front tuck into jeans. Sadly, the rainbow stripe sold out but there’s a pretty red stripe still in stock! The red gives me all the fall vibes and think it would be so cute with white skinny jeans for a casual outfit!

Shout out to my dad for taking these photos! He’s the best. We woke up early on a Sunday and shot these photos in a cute historic neighborhood and some scrunchie photos too. For some reason I curled my hair…not falling for that trick again. Morning humidity, I’m talking to you ha! After 30 minutes it was so hot we went and jumped in the pool right after.

I am feeling so refreshed after the weekend. I have not traveled on a big vacation since 2018 when I went to Hawaii. My friend and I decided to stay one night in Palm Beach for a fun weekend getaway and it was the best. We left early Saturday and got back Sunday night. It was the perfect trip!

We went to the beautiful blue watered beaches, walked on empty Worth Avenue and did the 10 mile Lake Trail! Palm Beach is pretty much a ghost town in the summer because all the snow birds leave and come back in the winter. If you want to visit on off-season and don’t mind the heat, I would recommend going in the summer months! Some of the stores on Worth Avenue were closed on Sunday but pretty much everything else was open and all the best photo spots weren’t crowded at all!

Lots of Sunshine,

Katie
