If there is a brand that celebrates femininity and beauty, it’s Gal Meets Glam! I remember in 2017 when Julia (one of my long time favorite Southern bloggers) launched the brand, I was so excited for her and the change it would bring to the industry. Personally, I felt like we needed more brands that are classy and stylish and not all about how much skin you can show or how fast the clothes could be produced. Every piece she designs is full of pretty details like ruffles, bows and classic silhouettes.
Jasmine Gal Meets Glam Dress (sold out, Shop GMG Dresses here) / Sunshine Style Co. Striped Scrunchie ($15)
When Glam Meets Glam Collection had a sale a few weeks back, I jumped right on it! I bought this fun striped dress and a pink nighty for my mom. It was a final sale so I cannot link to it (similar dress here). The fashion industry has really gone through some major changes the last few months during quarantine. E-commerce sales have increased big time and I do think we are going to see much more sustainably made clothes which I am all for!
All of the dresses on their site are final sale (most are $50-$120), so I do wonder what the future looks like for GMG Collection. I hope it’s bright and that they are able to continue to design unique pieces because our world needs them!
How Do Gal Meets Glam Collection Sizes Run
To me, their dresses run very true to size. I wear a 2/4 and ordered a 2 in the dress and it fit perfectly! Rompers for me are usually an entire different story. I size up to a 6 in their rompers for length! My first Gal Meets Glam purchase was a floral romper from one of their summer collections and I am super glad I sized up.
If you all saw my Instagram post where my mom modeled her GMG Collection pajamas, this photo will hopefully make you laugh! Anyone seen titanic?! “Draw me wearing this and only this!” ?
When I ordered this dress it was right before Carly and Ashley hosted their Instagram Live where we all made DIY Bow scrunchies together! My creative juices started flowing as soon as I marked the Insta live date in my calendar. Fabrics in store are pretty slim right now (#facemasks). When I found this pretty blue and white striped seersucker material at Hobby Lobby, I got so excited because I love anything matching. I bought some of the seersucker fabric to make a scrunchie that would match my new dress! (Update: You can now shop the scrunchies, matching masks and bow hair ties here!)
Did you know I took two years of sewing in high school and taught sewing for a year as a middle school teacher? It was my favorite class ever because we got to work at our own pace and be creative! I LOVE sewing so much and this craft project reminded me I need to do it way more! This past weekend I took a special trip to Hobby Lobby and bought two patters and more material to make scrunchies and a top for summer! Sunday I spent all day sewing and trying out new patters and washed my new fabric. I was in heaven and plan on doing it again this weekend!
Lots of Sunshine,
Katie
