When it comes to getting dressed in the fall in Florida, you move from short sleeved to long sleeved dresses and call it a day. I recently picked up this babydoll dress from J.Crew Factory with hopes to wear it once it cools down a little. J.Crew Factory is one of my favorite stores to buy preppy clothes on a budget. I plan on writing a post all about how to dress preppy on a budget soon! This classic dress would absolutely be included and it’s on sale for under $40.

If you remember, I did a little try on sesh on Instagram stories with this dress asking if I should exchange it for a Small. I took a risk and ordered an XS because the product photos online made this dress look huge. Turns out, after gaining muscle in my chest and arms and gaining a few pounds during Covid, I needed a Small. The small fit much more comfortable on the upper part aka my chest and arms and the length was more appropriate in the Small size.
This was also my first time trying out the babydoll style and I have to admit, I was a little hesitant and love more classic and empire waists. Turns out, I do love it! Feels very freeing. One thing I hate is to feel restricted in what I am wearing. The dress itself has 2% elastane so there’s plenty of stretch. It’s basically the perfect fall dress to wear for all our festivities like going pumpkin patches!
Stripes are always great for every season. This dress has subtle blue and white stripes which I adore! It also comes in an evergreen color and is on sale for under $40. It looks like this is a really popular color as there are only a few size options left.
Honestly, I hope babydoll dresses are still in style when I’m pregnant one day (in the very distant future). They’re so flattering and don’t hug every curve. Plus, you can eat a nice big meal and not worry about a food baby.
Did you enter my fall giveaway yet?! I belong to a Facebook group for Gal Meets Glam lovers. It’s such a fun and engaging group of girls. I recently met a friend in the group who also has an ETSY shop selling handmade bows. We decided to team up for a fall giveaway. I’m giving away a floral bow scrunchie and she’s giving away one of her hand painted hair bows! You can enter the giveaway here!
Lots of Sunshine,
Katie
