Ella’s Style: Crazy 8 Top / Old Navy Pants / DIY Moccasins
Dress: Gap (similar 1, 2, 3) Shoes: Ix Style | Purse: Target | Necklace: similar | Hat: similar
Okay, so I have to admit, I’ve been wearing my Ix Style huaraches non-stop this summer. I can’t seem to keep them off my feet, it’s like their permanently glued on. They really go with everything. I wear them to work, to run errands, and I even took them to Peru and got to dip them in the Pacific Ocean. It’s like your favorite pair of ten year old flip flops that you just can’t get rid of. They are so comfortable, I will be wearing them for many years to come. The first time I wore them in public, I stepped in the hugest pile of melted ice cream (some even oozed all over my toes). It was a mess but the sandals cleaned up so easily.
Besides a sticky pile of ice cream mess and wearing the same pair of shoes every day, I thought I would share a funny story that I posted to my personal Facebook page a few days ago.
Last week when I was packing my lunch, I was in a rush (like always). While searching for a zip lock baggie, my mom yelled from the other room, “There’s extras on the counter. I said, “Thanks mom”, grabbed the zip-locks, threw my grapes in one and off I went to work.
Not 5 minutes after I walked in the door from work, my mom goes, “Katie, did you take that zip lock bag off the kitchen counter. The one with the weird bugs in it that I was supposed to give to the bug inspector today!?”. Me: “huh lol? No. No. I took the one off the counter you told me to grab”. Mom: “I told you to take the bags off THE OTHER COUNTER, see…their still sitting there”. Me: “ooh gross. Well I guess I ate bugs with my lunch
today”.
Later I was digging through the fridge and realized I didn’t eat the bugs for lunch, I just threw my tomato in with them! I happily held the bag up and said, “look Mom I found the bugs, do you still think the bug guy wants them?”
Moral of the story? I didn’t eat any bugs for lunch and my mom should really tell me when she leaves bug specimens on the kitchen counter!
