If you are looking for the most versatile, classic and casual dress of the summer, I have found it! J.Crew Factory is killing it this season. A striped t-shirt dress has been on my wishlist for a while now. When I was browsing online at J.Crew Factory and saw this adorable dress for only $15, I immediately ordered it with my store CC and got free shipping! I knew immediately it was going to be my most worn item of the summer!
Is anyone else feeling all the summer heat feels!? This summer has been hot, hot, hot on a whole new level. I asked my mom to go to Cocoa Beach with me so we could snap photos of this dress and grab dinner afterward. In my head, I planned a fun night where we would snap photos on the colorful lifeguard tower, take a quick jump in the ocean, and then grab dinner at one of our usuals in Cocoa. Turns out I picked a night where there was absolutely no beach breeze. We barely lasted 15 minutes on the sand and it felt like we took a swim in the ocean.
This dress makes the absolute perfect beach cover up! I actually wore my swimsuit under the dress in hopes of taking a swim but we decided on an
In case you didn’t know, I love stripes more than any print! They are so classic and stand out all on their own. I’ve worn them dressy, casual and included them in my version of a capsule wardrobe. I like to keep my accessories pretty simple when I wear them and went with a bold statement earring and an oversized beach bag. I like how the stripes on this dress are super tiny. I’ve tried on so many t-shirt dresses before and just never liked the shape enough to buy one. It was always like wearing a shapeless brown paper bag. I had high hopes for this dress and it did not disappoint. It’s the perfect length and just loose enough but not to tight. I ordered a small and for my 5’8 height, I was so happy that when I washed it (hung to dry), it still
Hope you all had a super happy 4th of July. I kind of wished I had this post up by then but oh well! I had the best time off work. If you don’t love long weekends, I will never understand you ha! On the actual 4th my friends had a pool party and we all ended up swimming and playing pool games for like 6 hours straight. I was so pooped, I didn’t even go out to watch fireworks. I came home, cooked fajitas with my sister and then watched a movie by myself called About Time. Next year I really want to make fireworks a priority and not be so lame!
The next day I had an early morning interview (kind of the reason I didn’t want to stay out late watching fireworks) and then did something a little out of my comfort zone. I helped style my first client!!!! Last year when I was subbing a PE class, I met a teacher I had subbed for many many times during the school year. We were both stuck watching 100 kids in the gym during testing for a few hours so we had plenty of time to chat. As a sub, I normally don’t get much time to chat with the teachers and most of the time, I don’t even know what they look like, so this was a huge treat! When we got to talking, I told her I have a fashion blog and love fashion. She started telling me how she needed help with cleaning out her closet and wanted to look extra stylish for the next school year. She was super serious about getting style help and told me to leave her my business card on her desk because I was scheduled to sub for her class in a few weeks (see business cards do come in handy!).
The next week I left my card, then a few weeks later she
We had so much fun sorting through her wardrobe. She was actually a great shopper and already had tons of cute quality tops and pants, she just needed help styling them together. I helped her style outfits she could easily throw on in the morning. We even ran to Dillard’s to look for some cardigans she could throw over her outfits when she got chilly. We both had a blast, she felt confident and looked so cute in clothes she already had, just styled differently!
Thanks for snapping these photos mom!
