My New Favorite Shoe Brand and Pretty Floral Tops

On the weekends my sister and I love to hangout and go explore around town. Surprisingly, we had a super super rare cool front come through in mid-April which meant I could still wear my denim overalls with an actual long sleeve blouse and my new favorite loafers. Normally by the time my Birthday hits at the beginning of April, it’s summer weather from there on out. We took full advantage and went plant shopping at a cute local nursery called Rockledge Gardens.

Lately, my family and I have been plant obsessed. It all started when succulents were the cool thing. Now we have rows of plants lining our kitchen and my parents recently bought the cutest planting table for the outside porch to display all our plants in one spot. It’s not like we needed anymore but it was fun to shop for pretty plants to display. Do you see the venus fly trap? It’s the tiny plant on the giant cart ha. I think their the coolest ever and loved them as a kid!

Since I’m not a big jeans girl, my next best option is overalls! They are perfect for in between spring and summer days. The denim is so stretchy and doesn’t at all expand throughout the day. I wear a size Medium in the overalls and they truly fit like a glove. Shopping at a garden center is almost like being a gardener or overall-wearing farmer right!? Really though, I don’t think I could have planned out a better plant picking outfit. ?

How adorable are my new Eastland loafers?! When it comes to buying shoes, I am really picky. I never purchase shoes just because they’re on sale. If they aren’t multi purpose and don’t match with most of my wardrobe, I don’t even bother. I tend to buy shoes more on the pricey side because I take care of them and don’t own a boatload of shoes.

You all know my yellow obsession and these loafers are absolutely perfect. Eastland reached out to me and gifted me these shoes. I had heard of the brand before on Instagram but had never bought a pair myself. Before I said yes, I researched the brand and shoes and wanted to make sure it was something I would actually buy. Turns out, I totally would!

When brands reach out, I am always very very selective with who I work with. I really take pride in buying clothes that are high quality and that also means shoes. So I will never ever feature a product I would not wear myself. When I received the yellow loafers in the mail that I was able to pick out, I was stunned. They are incredibly soft and comfortable. I ordered a 9 and they truly fit perfect. The material is a mix between velvet and a soft leather feel and has a really supportive and comfortable sole. Even my mom who is a very picky shoe shopper said she would buy these and we literally never agree on wearing the same shoes!

Onto blouses. I love blouses but often find myself only wearing them to work. This floral one, however, is cotton and super lightweight. I wore it outside all day with my overalls and the next week I wore it to work all day and didn’t run straight home to rip it off like my other more silky blouses. It was a sale purchase I grabbed at Old Navy a few weeks ago for only $10. I absolutely love the cute feminine ruffles on the shoulders and the fitted band at the wrist. Really though, Old Navy has so many cute floral tops on sale right now, their worth checking out! My mental shopping wish-list now has “buy more cute and girly cotton blouses” on it!

I love the lighting in these photos. It was midday sun which makes it incredibly hard to shoot in. Lately, I have really wanted to step up my photography game and practice more. For a while, I was really frustrated with my Sigma lens because it wouldn’t focus right. I finally sent it in to get repaired and I am pretty sure they just sent me a new lens with my unlimited warranty. The quality is literally 100xs better and the colors are more realistic. Now that I like my lens better, that means I have been taking my Canon camera with me to places like gardens, the beach and family day trips to really push myself in all types of situations.

This past weekend I was asked to help second shoot a wedding. It’s completely nerve-wracking and you want to do the best job you can. But boy does it pull me out of my comfort zone. I am a huge people person and love people but taking photos of 120+ complete strangers is hard work! Not only do you have to chat it up with the guests but your also trying to make sure the photos are in focus, not completely overexposed or black all while making the entire process look seamlessly easy. Lets just say I have a lot more to learn if I shoot any more weddings.
